Ya-Chong (Crinum thaianum) is a unique emergent plant native to southern Thailand. When deep-fried in a flavorful curry paste batter, it becomes a signature dish of Phuket cuisine known as “Bua-Thod.” This dish features a mix of edible leaf fritters, often combined with small shrimp, and is typically served with “Nam Chor,” a tangy, sweet, and mildly spicy red dipping sauce. BaBin is Thai chewy pancake made with sticky rice flour. Simplest version can be as plain as just the rice flour, sugar and coconut milk.
